An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias such as ventricular fibrillation (VF) and pulseless ventricular tachycardia. It treats them through defibrillation, applying electricity to stop the arrhythmia and allow the heart to re-establish an effective rhythm.
Turn on the power. Voice instructions start immediately to guide you through the AED operation.
Once pads are attached, the AED starts analyzing ECG. The device proceeds only when pads are correctly positioned.
Supports international resuscitation guidelines. Energy can be reduced to 30/70J for child patients to protect heart muscle.
If a shock is required, the shock button will flash. Press it to deliver the electrical shock to the patient.
